Great crowds and great talent defined a spectacular show!
Local Natives and Jordana rolled into last night after a delay caused by a tour bus fire earlier that day. If that isn’t scary enough, imagine waiting for a replacement on the side of the road in this heat! But all is well now and while the bus issues delayed the doors opening, the sold out crown at the Jones Assembly didn’t seem to mind at all. After all, the crowd had waited through the bulk of a pandemic just to see Local Natives perform again.
Jordana opened the show and immediately apologized for a short set due to vocal issues. But the few songs (5 I believe) she did perform were artful and masterfully crafted setting her apart as an artist to watch over the coming months and years.
Speaking to her after her set, I immediately realized what a special person she truly is. Grounded, down to earth, and just genuinely nice is how I would describe her.
Local Natives took the stage next to an incredibly eager sold out crowd. Plowing through classics as well as new cuts, the show went full force when Taylor Rice (vocals, guitar) jumped into the crowd to sing a few bars.
If you haven’t seen Local Natives live, I highly suggest taking in a show. They do not disappoint.
