Retro meets alternative and sets it on fire!
Headliner The Nude Party (Tenatoms) rolled into Okc last night bringing their brand of genre busting alternative/country/retro-rock to Beer City Music Hall. Continuing the high energy show opened by Ceramic Animal, The Nude Party reminded me of living in a Quentin Tarantino film. Their brand of retro alternative country rock and roll pushes the limits of each of the genres is encompasses. What truly astonishes me is the beautifully crafted compositions that embrace almost every aspect of the history of rock and roll….and coming from some relatively young musicians. Don’t let the whimsical name fool you; this is a very serious band with very serious chops.
With roots in North Carolina, the various musical influences of that part of the country shine through. An Elvis-esque swagger ran through a setlist of new and old songs with a scattering of as of yet unreleased cuts.
